Visa & Residence Permit
Valid passport and visa is the precondition and guarantee for studying as an international student in China.
If this is your first time as an International student in China and you hold an X1 or X2 visa,we will help to change your X1 or X2 visa to residence permit.
X1 or X2 visa is usually valid for one months. The residence permit is valid for multiple entries and can be extended according to your study term/the Tuition fee and Accommodation fee you have paid.
Preparation for applying residence permit for the first time
※Passport
※ 2 newly taken photo (3.5*5.2cm,passport-sized with white-colored background)
※ Residence permit application form ( both applied online and printed by Room 207)
※ JW201/JW202 form
※ Admission letter
※ Accommodation Registration Form (available in Room 207 in you live in-campus or the police station if you live off-campus)
※ Health examination record (you will need to take another health examination after entering China, but you can waive the items you have done at home country)
※ School transfer certificate (applicable to those who are transferred from other universities in China)
※ Your birth certificate, guardian certificate and the xerox copy of your parents’passports (applicable to students under 18 years old; the guardian certificate goes into effect only after being authenticated by your local Chinese Embassy)
※ Tuition fee and Accommodation fee receipt
Preparation for extending residence permit
※ Passport
※ 2 newly taken photo (3.5*5.2cm,passport-sized with white-colored background)
※ Residence permit application form ( both applied online and printed by Room 207)
※ Accommodation Registration Form (available in Room 207 in you live in-campus or the police station if you live off-campus)
※ Tuition fee and Accommodation fee receipt
With all these documents needed, you can go to Exit and Entry Administration of the Public Security Bureau and submit your documents for residence permit and later take your passport back by yourself or we help you contact TRADESLINK（one agency specialized in Visa issue ）and TRADESLINK will submit your documents and take your passport back on your behalf.
The whole process takes around two weeks.

Some tips on passport and visa
※ Always bring the passport or a Xerox copy of it with you. The police have the right to check it and punish those who cannot to show it.
※ Keep the passport safe and sound. In case of loss, report to our office, your embassy and Administration of Exit and Entry of Beijing Public Security Bureau immediately and apply for a new one.
※ Keep in mind the validity of your passport or visa (residence permit), apply for extension one month before the visa expires.
※ According to Law, expiration of visa (residence permit) will lead to heavy fine or deportation.
※ Before you submit your documents and apply for visa (residence permit) extention, make sure you have paid the Tuition fee and Accommodation fee in advance
